Due to our prime location, superb site facilities and vast experience at running competitions at all levels, we have approval from the British Gliding Association to run 1 or 2 competitions each year.

Our site generally hosts a National Class competition and the Midland Regionals competition each year.

The competitions are run over 9 days, during which the competitors are set ‘tasks’ to fly. The tasks are cross country flights around specified turning points. Modern in-flight data recorders map the time and distance flown so that the fastest pilot can be proven. Each day the pilots are given scores for their flights and accumulate these so that at the end of the competition the highest scored pilot is declared the winner.
