Noise Abatement Procedures

This map illustrates the most noise sensitive areas close to the airfield (circled in red). These areas must be avoided at all times. In addition to the areas marked, try to avoid over-flying farms and other places of habitation.

To help us avoid the areas circled on the map above, the initial departure and rejoining tracks have been drawn in. These routings help maintain the greatest distance and height from the most noise sensitive areas and should be followed. The arrival track does not depict the exact position of the down wind leg, it is simply a guide.

Taking off towards the west (rwy 27), hold runway heading until almost reaching the canal and then, if departing to the north turn right keeping the canal on your left until passing abeam North Kilworth thereafter turn on track. If departing to the south turn left keeping the disused railway line on your right until passing abeam the Golf Club. Thereafter turn on track.

Taking off towards the east (rwy 09), as soon as practical after take off and, not before passing the airfield boundary, turn left or right to avoid overflying "The Wrongs farm". Then, after passing abeam Sibbertoft village, turn on track.

Arriving aircraft from the north-east must keep a good look out as you will be passing very close to glider circuit on the north side of the airfield. To help minimise conflicts use the south-east arrival route in preference.

Towing aircraft returning to circuit will generally fly low-level circuits (300ft QFE) to the south of the airfield.
